We were tired of losing the people we meet.
KONECT started in Ottawa from an everyday frustration: you meet someone who matters, you scribble their number on whatever's at hand, and two days later you have no idea who they were. Printed cards end up at the bottom of a bag, out of date before they're ever handed out.
Why KONECT exists
Digital networking tools already existed — but written elsewhere, for other people. English interfaces, payments that assume an international bank card, heavy pages that never load on a slow connection, and a model where your information belongs to whoever hosts the tool.
We built the opposite. A profile page that opens in under two seconds on an entry-level phone. French first, English on equal footing. Payment methods suited to the country. And one architectural rule that changes everything: the object holds none of your data, only a link to your profile.
That rule is what lets you lock a lost card, change what it shows, or hide a number — without changing the object, without reprinting, without asking anyone.

Track who taps you
You see how many times your card was opened and from which country. Never who, never precisely where. The person across from you didn't ask for anything.
Switch your object off
A card you bought stays a card that works. Stop paying and you lose paid features — not your profile, not your object.
Charge you quietly
Plans are paid up front, for the length you choose. Nothing renews on its own, nothing is charged unless you did it.
